Evacuated

Today was my first day working from home. I'm blessed to have my BFF help me move my equipment from the office to the spare room of my place. The setup is pretty makeshift and makes me feel like a college frat kid, but it'll have to do. I mean what else is gonna be the solution? They evacuated everyone in my office, so it is what it is.

At first I thought it would be pretty rad to work from home, but I can sense that it will be at least a month before they let us return, if they do. The "b" button of my keyboard is starting to act up, so that kinda sucks too. I'll have to hold off on getting a new keyboard, as I don't really want to spend any extra money right now.

Anyway, CS helped me get settled in and set up all my equipment for me. I did my first shift at home today; PJ dropped off lunch for me so I was grateful for that too! I got curry katsu, which I would say is one of my preferred foods. Then, when I got off shift, CS took me to pick up my preorder of Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I will play a little of that before sleeping tonight, to try and take my mind off the craziness in the world these days.

Mostly, I'm saddened that I can't go to the gym, or to the bar/pub with my friends. Being on lock-down sucks pretty badly, but I'm grateful that everyone around me is still safe. I pray the Lord look over everyone during these shaky times.

White-collar Life

Hello! I've been gradually settling into my new position as a KE. It's basically an admin and technical support position where we assist front-line agents. I am grateful that God has allowed me to naturally progress on my journey in life. I always have no idea where I'm going to end up, but hindsight always puts me in a position of learning.

Yesterday, I was upstairs on my old office floor of 8, walking around to provide support to my peers. I truly did feel like Byleth the professor surveying around the monastery, especially since I am technically a tier above my fellow agents and some of them are more tenured and have way more technical knowledge than I possess. I suppose I lend my assistance in other ways. I am focusing on bettering myself overall, so if I can achieve that goal bit-by-bit, I'm happy.

My colleague Rico, who recently came back from Japan, brought back a Sailor Venus doll for me! She's the cutest, I really love my gift!

She is precious! 😍

To the right of her is my golden book-shaped clock/photo frame with a picture of young Matt Damon. Another colleague found it in Value Village and told me I should get it, and I figured, why not! Haha. Work has been filled with so many fun things these days... I'm truly fortunate.

Interview with the Technical

Omigosh today was my interview for the new KE position at my office. I went in dressed in business casual attire, with my hair freshly washed, and gave it my all! I had already prepped for a couple weeks with colleagues that were all geared towards my success. I was told I did well by several colleagues so we will know by next week if I get my new position! I am really stoked and excited to hear the results from the interview.

Other notes - I was looking at new figures to display on my desk at work. I finally caved and bought casual Shigure figure by EXQ in cute l'il overalls! So I'm waiting for that to arrive and hopefully it will arrive by the time I hear back about the interview.

My dream figure is actually "LAVENDER QUARTZ Lana Torabishi" but I definitely am not looking to spluge that much money on a figure, no matter how pretty she is. Ha-ha.

Sun, Sun, Sun

I am in pain from hitting the gym again after an eternity. I did some cardio, stretching, and weight lifting. I feel like the wind has been knocked out of me! But I need to control my diet and get my body back to the way it was last year (or was it 2 years ago now -- haha). It was a rude wake-up call to not be able to fit comfortably into the summer dresses from last year, and the brand sports bras I bought fit snug. Sigh!

What's new? Um, I'm applying to a new position at work. I have to write a cover letter and spruce up my resume. Which I should have done today, but I ended up sleeping in at Bruno's house until two in the afternoon. There's always tomorrow, heh.

I've been working on my tan like I do every summer. And um, I planted some bright red gerbera daisies in our front yard. I hope they survive. And um, that's all for now!

Untitled Work

A LOT OF THE THINGS i used to care about, i don't really care about anymore.
i guess nothing really quickens my heartbeat the way it used to when i was younger.
maybe about a decade ago, things would have been different, and would have meant something. but the more i go on, the more i feel nothing matters, or that nothing instills passion in my heart. yeah... i guess what i'm trying to say is that nothing inspires me. you know? as chuck palahniuk once said... "art never comes from happiness". nor does it appear to come from contentedness, in my case.

i have no stories to tell. i have no stories left. my life is routine and mundane. i feel like all i ever do is repeat this mantra over and over.

before i was angst and wrote about love and the lack of it or a distorted perception of it. but now... now i know if someone doesn't love me, then whatever. it doesn't hurt me, and it's not my loss or their loss, but perhaps it's simply a lack of compatibility.

things i've been looking at today... since it's christmas, i should think about treating myself, yeah? or not since you know, i treat myself all the time. BUT STILL, look at this cute l'il baby Shigure figure. i just love the casual dress they put the shipgirls in, as opposed to their regular designs.

i'm thinking about buying this figure since it's relatively cheap. but i'm supposed to be saving monies. well, i've always been bad at that anyway, plus it's christmas so... what can ya do?

Improbability

I told myself I would stop doing my nails, but that totally didn't happen. I think... I just love having gorgeous nails far too much to give them up. ♡

I got really lazy posting my nail sets... So for the months of July and August, I didn't post any photos. July's set was one I didn't like very much; I didn't like how the girl did them:

June~July '13 nail set

What's new? Well, nothing really. The usual work and school... Urgh...

I actually find it amusing that many men have complimented my nails far more than women. I wonder if this is simply because my nails are a new and interesting sight for them to see, or if they are thinking some impure intentions? Cry, haha. It's hard being a girl.

I bought a denim vest and also a Wilfred dress from Aritzia. The denim vest I wanted to buy for a while now, to match with my white lace dress. But as for the Wilfred dress... I'm not sure if I will keep it, but most likely yes. And bring that dress to get altered at the tailor's~~~ the sleeves are a bit long.

OH, AND... I am going to my first-ever hockey game this Wednesday. My coworker, "Vincent", is taking me! And my manager "Cloud" is taking the surly "Cait Sith". Ha-ha, should be a lot of fun... I can't believe how lucky they were to win those tickets.

Well, chat again soon~ I seem to be on a break from lolita fashion, and more into dressing for fall/winter fashions that are more mainstream... We'll see what happens!

Water Flow

Today at work was so cold because the manager said we had to leave the door open at all times. Which basically meant wearing my jacket the whole day in the store. Sniff, what torture.. But at least we have chairs to sit on again now!

After work I was hopping on the skytrain and a nice man bought my ticket for me... How sweet, I wish him all the good karma points~~ because the machine wouldn't take my coins so I asked if he had another dollar to try... but he just swiped his card and bought me the ticket.

And me... I am trying my best to live my life and not worry about things beyond my control. Water will flow from high point to low point, everything will balance itself out.. xo

Lovely Parcels and iPhone 5 Release

So today was iPhone 5's official release date. To be honest, my store didn't receive as much traffic as I thought it would. The hype for iPhone seems to be dying off a bit compared to previous years.

Anyway, I got to work with my lovely coworker Lisa ~ and here we are taking a picture of ourselves using the lovely Samsung Galaxy S3 ! The skin beautifier on that device is simply marvellous.

Hard at work, eh ~

My wig from Gabalnara still didn't arrive, but the novelty files I bought came this morning! Two lovely folders featuring artwork by Kira Imai, the artist for Angelic Pretty. The two prints are "Wonder Story" and "Chess Chocolate"! I own the CC OP in pink, but I haven't yet managed to hunt down WS JSK in wine.

I just couldn't copy the awesomeness with my camera, but I will attempt to take decent photos of the folders... sometime..!

The two prints on my folders; the art is breathtaking in real life

I find it interesting the wig I ordered is sort-of similar to the hair of the girls in the artwork. So here it is~

I should probably stop with the consumerism since I need to save for my new car. It isn't going to buy itself! But I want to hunt down my dream dresses so badly!

Thanks for visiting!
