Storm in a Teacup

Lately, I've been attempting a healthier lifestyle, which doesn't 100% seem to be working. My body weight/mass is very stable, so I'm not the type to gain or lose weight easily. A blessing and a curse, but I know getting fit takes dedication and willpower--both of which I don't have atm. I have a lot of fatigue and some stress, however... hehe.

Started some yoga classes again~ And drinking more lemon water and coconut water.
(But keeping the classes up is proving more & more difficult...)

Life seems to be the same, no changes. Work seems to be easier, in that I am slowly taking things more seriously and trying to take on more responsibilities to prove my worth. But you know, in the olden days... apprentices would train for years, or decades, to become a master in their professions. My hairstylist Leo was telling me the other day how apprentice sushi chefs, the great ones in Japan, train under a master sushi chef for something like a decade before they can be considered a great chef.

True or untrue as that may be, I guess like working out, improving oneself in all facets of life take dedication and time. Work harder, AND stronger.

Relationship-wise... things have become stable again, with random waves rocking the boat here and there. I've learned with experience that life is best lived without so many expectations of how things should be... a vague outline with a positive outlook is often enough.

Below are two of my favourite sets in the last couple months. Flower-themed nails are so elegant, and both have a different feel~

Pastel floral glory~~ for the last run of spring. May~June 2016

An elegant blue-centered floral. My nail tech painted each watercolour flower painstakingly!!!

I see a lot of copy-cats at my nail salon when it comes to my nail designs. I choose my designs precariously and work with my nail tech to make them a reality; each set is unique and rarely straight copied from a magazine or online.

Someone tried to copy the look of the pastel set with the 3D roses recently... I saw the image on Instagram. Another gal copied the bears on my Christmas set last year, with Duffy and his girlfriend on the thumbs. While I don't mind or claim to be the first to have these nails/nail art, I do have mixed feelings about being copied. I'm sure trendsetting is actually a very flattering thing, but I do appreciate uniqueness and creativity also... there's no need to copy me 100%, is there? I mean... people can put their own twist to things, can they not?

It shouldn't matter, anyway. I need to learn to stop caring about trivial things.

Oh, and my new hair colour is an ashy-gray~~ I love ashy hair, and braids!!!

Love~ I wish I took a photo of all my curled hair cascading down. Oh well, next time!!!

Aaand that's my usual update I guess. Filled with fluff and guarded. I promise I'll try and write something meaningful soon. I don't know how to lump that in with all the rest.

Secret 2.0

hello, dear blog. i didn't think anyone read this, but in an emotional outburst one night my ex-boyfriend told me he had. so obviously, people must read it who stumble upon this as well? (do you think i'm boasting? this is my private space to express myself and record my life... people are free to think what they wish.)

so, 2016 is here. this year july, i will be a quarter of a century old! i feel myself aging as well. did you also know i moved to a new home? i suppose people have no choice but to keep moving onwards, leaving the past behind.

my new room still has pink walls, and now i have all-white furniture. i posted photos of my new room on fb, but have been so lazy and neglectful towards my blog... i'm just unmotivated, i guess. but i have had my nails done through the holidays and i want to share those designs, because ever since i left lolita fashion (temporarily~???), nail designs have been my passion. so here~

my latest nails, late jan~feb are valentine's themed.

i chose an overall pink/red heart theme, with 3D glitter hearts and a mini-corset pattern with a 3D bow in red. i really like the 3D bunny ears on my ring finger and thumb. various small pearls are placed throughout the set too! so the bunny ears are like a headband. i like the "love" sticker and little pearls on my pinkies as well.

i had a really lovely christmas theme nails too! these were for december.

i wish i took a better photo of this set, this is one of my favourites but the quality is so poor. oh well~

i decided to get disney bears, duffy and shellie may, painted on my thumbs~ and people really loved the nude snowflake design (i guess it's the most "basic" that relates to everyone haha). my favourite has to be the 3D stones christmas tree and wreath with the 3D bows!!! they're soo cute! and the present-wrap nails were pretty much filler nails.

lastly, my set for november after halloween was a basic coffin-shaped fall-coloured design. i remember really loving the shape. enough said~

i'd have to say that my favourite nail colour has to be nude, like nude beige or nude pink. dusty colours appeal to me more than bright colours. additionally, i love the colour pink, but i'm really not a fan of hot-pink nails.

i wish i had a general direction while blogging, but this is more of a free space to dump my thoughts than an organized blog. i'm trying to get more in-touch with myself these days since i feel i've become alienated and trying to hard to fit in with being "basic". so we'll see how 2016 goes, and who stays or leaves and who comes along.

nails spring/summer 2015

I missed a few posts regarding my nails so I actually don't know when I got what set and what month. I also missed posting and taking pictures of a daisy-themed pastel set I did somewhere in between... I was too lazy to take photos and I didn't love that set that much. Anyway, here are my three most recent sets. ^^

Mine on the right, sis's on the left. ;3; I tried a more mature, bling-y theme. Not my style, really...

I loved this simple set! Tiffany blue and pearls! I requested this set myself. I love how little gold stones are placed between the pearls.

This is the set I currently have on! I really like it, but for some reason it didn't photograph well AT ALL. I've wanted to get seashell decos on my nails for a very long time! Pearls and seashells are my favourites, haha.

I also started getting pedicures to show off during the summer. Although, at the present moment, I really don't have any reason to do them... it's not like I'm going through anything new or exciting anymore, like I was end of last year...

BACK 2 EARTH

dangerous, so dangerous

i wanna do it again...

After this amazingly long hiatus, I'm back. :D I doubt anyone noticed I was gone. But the good news is that I've actually got motivation to write. And I've changed a lot since last year. So many new experiences and excitement, it's hard to embrace it all.

All I can say is...

Life is full of surprises. Twists and turns, like you never know what will happen. I've learned a lot, hurt a lot, hurt others a lot... Well, you know how things usually go. And it was definitely so exciting and moving and I really had such strong feelings about everything that happened. But I'm also glad everything slowed down so that I could breathe and analyze everything fully.

Initially, I truly was stuck in a hole. There was a lot of trauma the past few months, but I always quickly get back on my feet with the support of my friends. I was out with friends practically every day for two weeks! Thank God for time healing all... except for the fact that time doesn't exist. So it really all boils down to my own self.

What's the point of this post? Being reborn. Forgiving. Being a new person, aspiring to be better. I guess all that jazz, on top of not being so selfish and guarded all the time.

One complain I will have is... Sure, people always scrutinize and judge my life. Sometimes, I feel I must be a celebrity, because so many people talk about me who don't even know me personally. It's really odd; I must be such an interesting person then *boasts*!!! But... I guess I am a pretty different kinda gal. Of course I'll pique their interest. I mean, it's not my fault I can be a psycho-bitch sometimes. People are only human. But if people don't forgive, they don't give others the room to grow and learn.

And that's not my fault. Not at all.

My new hair. Ashy as always! And ironically, the same colour I had last summer. Only with longer hair. ;w; AND NO BANGS.

I also started doing my nails again this year after a break. Tbh, I only stopped doing my nails because someone told me he liked the "natural look" better. But since we parted ways, I've been dyeing my hair and decorating my nails again... I didn't mind stopping, but now that I'm alone again, what have I got to lose?#TREATYOSELF

You like? I really loved this set.

Close up of details!!!☆.。.:*・°☆

Well... that's all I wanna share for now. Until the next post~~ ciao~~

Dreamy Night Star

I got a special nail design for the month of October; the design features large round sparkles for the tips and glittery stars throughout. This is the closest I come to a Halloween-spooky theme, since I did a sort of dreamy lavender colour with purple stars~ sort of like a pastel night sky.

Ring finger has a small white bow with a purple star center~

I really start to love my recent sets of nails. I switched from a square shape to a rounder feminine shape~ (although Shan says she likes square shape better...)

Sunshine

Every human's greatest wish is to be known. Truly, truly known, and accepted by someone they care about and feel connected to. This is the deepest level of intimacy, and I would imagine a lot of people do not even come close to scratching the surface of "knowing" their other half or those around them.

Does anyone even really know themselves? I find myself trying harder and harder to live in the present, striving to become more connected to this world and my own body.

A lot of people are afraid to let themselves be vulnerable and hurt by others, and this is OK. Your brain is biologically wired to defend you, protecting you from threats and harm -- just like in prehistoric times. The difference is, in present times, your brain still doesn't realize sad emotions and vulnerability won't kill you. Still, the brain does a wonderful job in putting up walls and defences to numb us to situations that may end up hurting us... but, in putting up this subconscious defence... this can create a serious block when trying to find that level of connection (that feeling of being known) to someone else.

I am slowly practicing on how to slow down my thoughts, accept compliments more easily, shrugging off negativity, and living life how I want to and following my own beliefs and values.

I got my nails done today~ This is my September~November set. (─‿‿─)v

I love the flowers, and the ring finger being pink with the pearl bow and coloured jewel in the center~

I was originally planning to get white nails with the ring finger covered in large sparkles, but when I arrived at the salon I picked this charming design instead. I think it's absolutely fabulous! White is so classy. *:・゚✧

I think it's really sweet of everyone who appreciates my style. I admit, I am the type of gal who enjoys shopping for pretty dresses and high heels, and I also love getting my hair and nails done. Make-up as well... I'm just an all-around girly-girl. Heh--☆

Oh, and I just want to say, I love David Guetta's music! That type of music is my absolute favourite and always gets me pumped!!! Song behind the cut. :3

It's my blog, I can do what I want~~ -- The one and only time I will reference one of Miss Cyrus's songs. Ha!

Improbability

I told myself I would stop doing my nails, but that totally didn't happen. I think... I just love having gorgeous nails far too much to give them up. ♡

I got really lazy posting my nail sets... So for the months of July and August, I didn't post any photos. July's set was one I didn't like very much; I didn't like how the girl did them:

June~July '13 nail set

What's new? Well, nothing really. The usual work and school... Urgh...

I actually find it amusing that many men have complimented my nails far more than women. I wonder if this is simply because my nails are a new and interesting sight for them to see, or if they are thinking some impure intentions? Cry, haha. It's hard being a girl.

I bought a denim vest and also a Wilfred dress from Aritzia. The denim vest I wanted to buy for a while now, to match with my white lace dress. But as for the Wilfred dress... I'm not sure if I will keep it, but most likely yes. And bring that dress to get altered at the tailor's~~~ the sleeves are a bit long.

OH, AND... I am going to my first-ever hockey game this Wednesday. My coworker, "Vincent", is taking me! And my manager "Cloud" is taking the surly "Cait Sith". Ha-ha, should be a lot of fun... I can't believe how lucky they were to win those tickets.

Well, chat again soon~ I seem to be on a break from lolita fashion, and more into dressing for fall/winter fashions that are more mainstream... We'll see what happens!

May 2013

So after a brief stint over at Wordpress, I decided Blogger is the more comfortable place for me to write without having to worry about formatting things nicely or whatever... because I just feel more comfortable using the interface I've stuck with for years. n.n

For May, I had a new set of nails that were a simple design; not too overbearing, but still had some rose stickers incorporated into the pink and silver glitter.

Red and pink rose nail stickers~

April Sunflowers

For April, I got a new set of nails and I didn't have much idea of what I wanted other than "mint green" and "sunflowers" so the technician took it upon herself and created the design.

For spring, I wanted a refreshing mint green with sunflowers!

I should start planning what my next set should be. I was thinking a blue set with an orange goldfish??? OR... hmm...???

THANKS FOR WATCHING!

Flower Nails

My new set of nails. Got them done yesterday :) My lovely technician actually painted on each rose herself. Such art and dedication! I really love the deco-nail look.

Makeshift Deco-Nails

New nails~~ ^^

I got them done to tie me over for the holidays. I tried a different salon along Broadway; it was so expensive... For sure, didn't really suit the quality. I must return to the original salon I went to with Viki. However, I very much like the beige colour the lady chose for me~~ Very lovely.

Deco Nail Day

Other me and I went to do our nails at a salon. She got gorgeous, custom Halloween-themed candy & pumpkin nails, while I opted for a light-hearted look with gold, pink, pearls and stars. I am not too fond of the shade of pink used, but the ladies insisted a dark colour was needed for better contrast and more suited to the "winter feel" rather than "summer feel".

My nails remind me of the circus. And Star Night Theatre. (No idea why, SNT is not even really related!)

Got my nails done. Haven't had long nails in a long time!

Cannot wait to theme my next nails which will be ETC biscuit dress themed! In just a couple weeks I hope. =)

Thanks for visiting~!
