I have to leave for school soon. I just thought I'd put my fashion show photos up -- you know, the ones with RinRin and me.

Everyone said RinRin Doll was nice, but I personally thought she HAS to be nice because she's a model. It's her public persona. I secretly felt that she thought we were weird or strange. But people can't always be open with how they feel.

All I can say is, I don't like the way my nose looks... Argh, so flat. Other than that, I'm pretty comfortable with the way my body is... but in photos, every model has such a high nose. ;_;

It's not like people don't love me for who I am. My boyfriend, family and friends care about me just fine... but it's just how we see ourselves, you know? That crack in the mirror and us criticizing ourselves based on the standards set by society.

I know this but how come I follow it blindly???

At least she signed some post cards for me...~ That was sweet of her.

I'm thinking about ordering a cake for my boyfriend's birthday. We've been doing all right... ^^ I'll post some ideas soon.

"Chocolate Princess"

On April 5th, I participated in a small spring fashion show for the "Sakura Days Japan Fair". This event took place at VanDusen Botanical Garden. A lot of local lolita showed up in their frilly dresses to take part in this event.

I chose to wear my Chess Chocolate Jabot JSK and that boston bag I waited so long for. Yeah, a lot of gals commented on my chocolate bag and congratulated me for finally finding it! Which I smiled because it really is a charming bag, if bags can be such things. (*´∀｀*)

Chocolate from head to toe. I'm a basic lolita.

I like to refer to myself as a "basic lolita", referencing the slang term "basic b*tch". It basically means that my style is a generic style of sweet lolita that all sweet lolitas love. You know, Angelic Pretty, pink, chocolate, etc.

I don't find anything wrong with that, it's just that I haven't really developed my style to become unique like some of the seasoned lolitas I know. But I suppose one could use this term for lolita of all categories, because gothic lolitas love black lace and MmM (haha) and... well, country lolita must love strawberries, straw hats and... plaid? IDK. All I know is that for now, I'm fine being basic in my sweet style. (Did I mention I also love roses, cute little animals, and candy hearts? Lol.)

More coming soon? I should post a big group photo of us all, and introduce the new (and old) friends I met, but for now I just wanted to document another successful outing in lolita! *^^* I did resolve to wear my frills more, didn't I?

Chocolat Dance Party

I should be sleeping... but instead, I'm not! I'm blogging! (*´꒳`*) Because I said I would try and blog more, so I will keep my promise to myself. If you have blogger too, let's follow each other! I want to encourage others to write about their daily events, too. Or whatever is on their mind..!

I wanted to share my photos... yeah~ you know me, just a little bit of lolita-related items and cute things. I don't have an interesting life lately! Work, school, and a bit of leisure time is pretty much my fall/winter this year.

My gorgeous AP boston bag♡ I haven't used yet, but I will carry to a fashion show this April.

Some exciting(?) news is that I bought the Bon-Bon Chocolat Dance Dance Dance Cafe Milk JSK in the "double chocolate" colourway instead of "chocolate vanilla"! This is new for me since I always buy light-coloured prints, I rarely have any dark prints.

I've never bought a dress with navy blue detailing before. I love the scalloped hem~

I like the dark blue! I am slowly drifting away from pink, yeah? (No! Pink is my favourite colour! But I wouldn't get this print in pink.) Actually, I only have two BABY dresses, the other being Chocolate Fascinate Fairytale, and that dress is indeed in pink.

...Sometimes I wonder why I am a sweet lolita? Some people hate on sweet style because it is a common style in lolita fashion, but to be honest sweet is really hard to wear! Everyone will stare and think you are a little girl, or have some strange wish to be a little girl again. But I just love beautiful dresses and I feel this style really expresses my inner personality to be free from society's constraints to conform!!! (Haha, dramatic.)

In truth, I think gothic is much more mature and elegant, and black makes the wearer seem more mature and respectable than a sweet candy dress. But, I love chocolate and sweet prints (same as many other lolita) so I can't help that my style is more common. Who can resist chocolate or biscuit purses? I can't.

Speaking of purses, I bought a purse for casual wear last week.

Betsey Johnson

Nothing special, just an off-brand bag I was attracted to because of the quilted heart stitching.

A lot of the bags I have, I rarely wear out because Vancouver is so rainy, and I (try to) take really good care of my belongings. Several times I carried out my Miu Miu bag and it started to rain... So I remedied that by getting a bag I wouldn't mind getting wet! (Leather is so fickle...)

This bag is actually really spacious, and keeps my makeup bag, wallet, keys and phone all neatly inside. I've never bought anything from Betsey Johnson before, but apparently some of her designs for accessories are popular.

Lastly, I took some photos with a demo of the newest HTC phone! It's called the HTC One (M8). I wish more phones came in pink! Anyway, this doesn't come in pink. But from what I heard, it's a solid phone with several people pre-ordering it before release date. Worth checking out~

International Women's Day / J-Fest

Today I was unsure whether I was going to attend J-Fest, which is an annual mini-con. I don't normally attend conventions because I'm not deeply into anime or anything. The only anime I really like is "Attack on Titan", which most people already know... 

Anyway, I decided to go because going to conventions is fun for me to see the cosplayers as well as other lolita. I bumped into some of the local Vancouver lolita -- I believe Kelleigh and Charlene -- and we chatted briefly. But I'm still quite shy from all the people asking to take my photo. Doing so makes me nervous. Anchovy said he's worried people will use my photos for indecent things, but a lot of cosplayer's photographs get taken at conventions. So really, to me, it must not be that bad???

I haven't decided which OTK or shoes to match with that coordinate yet, but I will be taking photos with flowers in a lolita fashion show...? *^^* SELF-MOTIVATE MYSELF TO DO THINGS THAT MAKE ME HAPPY~~ like lolita fashion~~

I should wear my royal chocolate socks or maybe the new AATP diamond socks in gold? Even after I reminded myself to stop spending money on brand over-the-knee socks, I couldn't help it... They are just too gorgeous...!!!

CHOCOLATE CHESS GET!

Exciting news! I impulse-bid on an auction and wound up getting Chess Chocolate's Jabot JSK in pink~ like I wanted. The headbow is even more beautiful than my last!   But I have to sell a pair of my Royal Queen OTK since now I have two pairs in pink, which I don't even need because I promised I'd swear off buying OTK socks for a while. ^^" It's hard because I really love OTK socks!!! especially from AP...

I also splurged on a lockshop wig~ chocolate cherry amo-inspired wig from their website. I think I want to wear this + chess choco to the fashion show in April! we shall see... My anchovy wanted a more mature girlfriend, but I ended up being more... childish... /flails  I can't help my love for the elegant and sweet lolita fashion. I wish I could wear the fashion all the time but people don't seem to appreciate alternative fashion... I'm just so shy! But i have to make a goal and achieve the goal~ which is to attend the convention this year, dress up in 2 outfits, and also... To take a photo in the snow (christmas ??!!) with my Holy Night Story. T.T  I must!!!!!

I cannot wait. Ever since I sold my OP I wanted to re-buy this in the JSK style. I find the princess OP and regular OP are too "formal" for my liking... My lolita style is casual and otome, and because of my self-consciousness I prefer to mix lolita into a style/version I can get away with in everyday situations. (Which is one of the many reasons why I love ETC.)

I've been really lazy to update this blog.  It's in a very messy state, but much like other things in my life. But I will try and be more organized... (If this is even possible... haha keeping a blog updated is very time-consuming)

So, my dear father came back to visit during April, which is also the time of my little sister's birthday. She turned 18!!! So it was great for her, I ended up getting her a cute shirt with a kitty wearing red glasses, and a pair of red TOMS shoes. I think she is happy with it... I hope so!

On that Sunday morning the cherry blossoms around our neighbourhood were in bloom so I was able to take some photos! And some of them, my dad was in the picture as well.

Hello, all. I took little photos of ensembles and pieces I put together on a whim. Don't mind me, this post isn't of much value other than filler~~

I was really glad my long-awaited Royal Choco socks finally came. And I was actually at a loss for what to do with the 6%DOKIDOKI glitter clips I bought. For a while it seemed like they were going to waste... but I found a way to incorporate them into my closet somehow!

February Update

Hello, all~

I have not blogged in a long time, but I have had many adventures. Valentine's Day is fast approaching! I wonder what surprises will arrive this Thursday...?~

For starters, I did go on a little lolita adventure with two local gals. We didn't venture anywhere too special or too far, but rather went to "Shaktea" which is on Main St. I finally got to wear Honey Cake in a full coord. I finally got to give my Prisila wig some love~ although I still need to work on perfecting the curls. Most of them are tangled...  

Good Morning Sandwiches

Yesterday, I started my morning off with a delightful breakfast while heading to work. It was at a breakfast place we frequent when we're at Port Moody, called "The Gallery Bistro". It's a gourmet sandwich place. We placed an order over the phone and picked it up~

2013(︶ω︶)♥START!

The New Year's was eventful and I look forward to what 2013 is going to be like. I know simply another day has passed, but for me it is like turning a page. It's the chance for a new start, both mentally and physically. So, I wanted to post some things that happened to me the last month of 2012.

10 December 2012: I received my AP jewel jabot blouse from AP store in Japan~~ and also picked up other minor goodies, like the Kyary x Mameshiba iPhone case (I wanted forever!!), the AP rose lace socks I've been admiring (drawn in Imai Kira's Wonder Story art), and the AP honey bear necklace to match my honey cake dress. \(＾▽＾)/*

A very uplifting package I received after writing my term paper~

14 December 2012: Visited True Confections for dessert after dinner! The devil's food cake was huge and I wore casual lolita. *^^* It was one of the rare times I order something other than cheesecake. I didn't even finish the whole slice!

18th Dec 2012: I also got a new set of nails for the holiday month! They are a more extreme deco-style. Can't say it really suits me.. but my technician chose it for me~ so I wasn't picky about it.

The top bow on the other hand is green instead of light pink~

I'm not sure what else I wanted to include but my December basically passed by very quickly. It was an event-filled last month of 2012, with finals and new friends and ups-and-downs. I am focusing to start 2013 with positive energy and happines~~

Lastly, some of my new year's resolutions are:

1) Budgeting better each month to save more money (only spend $500~600 per month)
2) Taking better care of Jacky, more walks with him (hopefully daily walks for at least 20min)
3) Bonding better with people, being less judgemental and more friendly (especially with my partner)
4) Studying harder in school, keeping in touch with friends, and doing hobbies I like (writing more~)

My new year's day started out with my having to go to work, but I'm happy nonetheless. I'm striving to be a more mature individual, keep wearing dresses, and living without regrets!

Caffeine Dream

Drank too much coffee in the afternoon at work today and now I cannot sleep... Sigh.

I found the Sheep Garden Round JSK in Beige! I was scouring Mbok and located it; it's like it popped up by ~magic~. My lovely SS snatched it up and I hope it will arrived to me within the next couple weeks. *^^* Stupid Christmas / holidays where the post office slacks! I want my goods, damn it!

I also caved and bought the Sugar Hearts cutsew in white. I swear that print and I have some magical connection because I own like everything from that series. •__•

I wish I could sleep! *cry*

I have work tomorrow and I am going to be so tired.

Holy Night & Sweet Sheep

Hi, dears. Today was a stressful day because of emotional reasons, but I hope everything turns up soon. (Why do I always find myself talking like that..??)

Anyway, I'm sure everyone already knows, that I really love sheep! I am still on the search for Angelic Pretty's "Sheep Garden" JSK, I cannot believe it is so hard to find! A local lolita in my community owns it, and I rather like the beige colour because I have too much pink in my wardrobe. Don't get me wrong, I love pink, but I want to have a variety of dress choices! But I cannot find it either in pink or beige, how sad. *sniff*

Lately I have been eyeing "Holy Night Story" in military switching version. If I buy it, it will be my first black dress..! For those of you that do not know, it looks like this:

I sort of want to get it because the military-style appeals to me. The headbow has two little hanging gold stars on either side. I don't know if I really want to buy it because it seems like it would only be a "holiday print" that wouldn't have much use outside of Christmas/winter months... ^^"

Today I sold a dress I impulse bought, I thought it would be a good idea to go over it for my records because I won't be buying it again. The print I sold is called "Mary Sweet Sheep" JSK from Baby the Stars Shine Bright~ I took some photos.

Overall, a very classic sweet dress.

The hellolace page doesn't have detailed shots of the little lambs in the print so I took some myself. They aren't really noticeable overall. I impulse bought it but only tried it on once at home. Although I love sheep, I only bought this dress because I wanted Sheep Garden, but couldn't find it. I hope the new gal likes it and puts it to better use~

Chocolate Pancakes!

I found this image of a BEAUTIFUL lolita that I saw on Tumblr, and she amazes me!!! She is so gorgeous, and what a creative theme with "chocolate pancakes"~~ ugh swoon!!! I fangirl over gorgeous gals.

She has the AP biscuit clips, the Tokyo special version of AP's Honey Cake and the Royal Chocolate socks I'm jealous for. I don't dig the shoes, but this is such a fresh twist.

Beautiful ~~ I want to try this with my Honey Cake as well!

The Wonders of OTK Socks

Angelic Pretty makes the most adorable... socks. That's right, socks! I find myself yearning to buy loads and loads of their delightfully patterned lolita legwear. It's a shame that most of the prints I want aren't easily found. ;_; /cry

I've always had a weakness for lolita socks and I have bought a handful of them at exorbitant prices. I guess I should start spending that money elsewhere! But they are just too cute （*´▽｀*）

It's kind of a waste to spend a lot on legwear though. Tights are a far more versatile and money-saving investment. A lot of lolita don't bother with fancy socks and opt to save that money to put towards dresses. Off-brand legwear is more conventional as well, because socks tend to get ruined quickly so spending a lot on them isn't very smart. (This is my rational mind attempting to kick sense into my consumerist self...)

On a different note, my girlfriend has taken up an interest to get fit through doing more exercise, possibly going to hot yoga with me. I am not entirely sure why she suddenly likes hot yoga, but the other day she went and bought some Lululemon shorts. (一。一;;） I never thought I would see the day...

Table For Three @Burgoo

Last night I got dolled up because A) Wonder Story is my favourite dress at the moment and B) It was rainy so when I got back from work I was a tad disheartened. Seasonal weather affecting thing, you know! Wearing my frilly dress cheered me up a bit.

Vincent swung by my home and we picked up Viki and drove to a bistro on Main Street called "Burgoo". I had my first taste of this bistro when I first started working at Fido at the beginning of the year. (Main's Fido store is right across the street from Burgoo.)

I had a fantastic time~ Vincent ordered a grilled cheese sandwich with crab bisque, I had a wonderful Hungarian beef goulash with mashed potatoes, and Viki ordered this delightful aged white cheddar fondue with green apple slices and bread cubes. Everything was absolutely heavenly. Besides from the usual bothersome people and stares, I had a great time. Viki and I ended up splitting Vincent's bisque. Burgoo promotes itself as food for comfort, and I definitely felt very comforted enjoying this meal with my friends.

Sugar Hearts Love

A jumperskirt I have become really fond of is Angelic Pretty's "Sugar Hearts". The white colour way is my favourite, and I've been brainstorming ways to coordinate it~ It is a very wonderful summer dress, but fall is approaching already! Today it was already very rainy on my way to work. =(

I've always had a penchant for candy hearts. This light & airy chiffon JSK is simply fabulous! However, all the cardigans/boleros/blouses I bought have been so finicky and don't sit well with the dress, imo. I guess I have no other choice than to keep wearing it with the lacy AP blouse I have... ~sigh

Wonder and Biscuits

My wallet is crying! I have recently obtained AP's Wonder Story JSK in wine, exactly in the version I wanted (round). I chose this version because the lace at the hem is red, instead of the usual white, and for the overall feeling the dress gave me. I am so happy to have these lovely dresses in my collection. I swear it's like an addiction; expensive, yet useless and rewarding. What a sad, sad life to be a Lolita... *cry*

I am still having trouble finding things to match my Sugar Hearts JSK. I guess I will just keep wearing it with the lacy pink blouse from AP. Nothing else to do about it... ^.^

So sad haven't been able to fully wear Lolita lately... But hopefully this weekend, I will be able to, and that makes me very happy..!

Another happy thing is that the dress I want from Emily Temple Cute has finally popped up on Mbok! My shopping service, a lovely person, has found it for me. ^^ The price is currently at 25,500yen (approx. $325usd!) So effing expensive.

Need to put together a revised wishlist, for the future.

Honey Bear

So a lot of things have fallen apart and been shaky lately. I'm just gonna focus on school and work. What else can I do? Don't think about it.

Yesterday I wore my lovely Honey Cake JSK with the new wig that arrived. It's super soft and I am in love with Gabalnara. I'm really happy I chose this style and colour. I don't know if it's 'realistic' enough, per se, but I cut the bangs as best I could and bravely wore it out.

I'm so scared to mess up the bangs! I'm going to leave it like this for now and perhaps get a friend to touch it up later. I think I give off a very 'country doll' vibe, don't you?

So happy with Honey Cake & Gabalnara ~ ignore my lack of fancy make-up! >o<
