Noire Island

It's lonely being the sole ruler of the world...

Gripping the invitation letter in her hand, Marion ascended the steps leading up to the large estate. From the outside, the hotel looked like a looming castle out of a storybook.

So this was Hotel Grand Eclat. The letter said it was once the estate of a renowned archbishop, and was now managed by one of his descendants after being remodelled into a hotel.

She entered the building and the atmosphere immediately seemed different. A strange tension permeated through the air; the temperature felt cooler as well, even compared to the brisk night air outside.

A voice greeted her as she entered the lobby, "Good evening, miss."

"Good evening. I'm here by the request of Mr. Thierry. I'll be staying here over the course of our... business matters."

Marion handed the letter over to the lady manning the front desk. Reviewing the letter, the lady nodded solemnly.

"Of course, thank you for coming. Allow us to show you to your quarters." She waved over a man standing off to the side. "This is Terrence. He has been assigned to watch over you."

"You may present any requests to me." Terrence bowed, his gaze meeting hers. He was a tall young man with dark hair, clothed entirely in black. "Please, follow me."

He led her up a flight of stairs and down a winding hallway. Marion noted that the interior of the hotel was furnished elegantly, albeit in an old fashioned style. Scones with gold ornamental brackets lined the hallway, alongside numerous oil paintings. They passed by several guests, each one possessing an air of dignified grace befitting of one staying in a reputed establishment.

"Your room is 241." Terrence unlocked the door with a key, which he then pressed into her hand. "Mr. Thierry will meet you in the lounge for dinner in an hour. I will come and escort you then. In the meantime, please settle in and get comfortable."

"I'll see you then."

Marion unpacked the few articles of clothing she had into the sturdy wooden dresser and undid the curtains. The silver moon was slowly shifting into the sky, casting a calming glow into the room.

Hopefully, she thought, coming here was the right decision.

"Thank you for joining me."

The man known as Cecil Thierry stood, a jubilant smile plastered on his face. He looked very much like his great-grandfather; they shared the same wavy auburn hair and sharp, calculating eyes.

"The pleasure is mine."

She extended her arm to shake his hand, surprised when he brought the back of her hand to his lips. She didn't know this part of the region still observed traditional customs.

The waiter wasted no time in serving up the appetizers. Cecil sipped from a glass of dark red wine, observing her. She ate slowly, carefully, mindful to preserve her manners before her host.

"There's been a disturbance in our beloved hotel," Cecil began. "We have heard of your medical expertise, and so, we were hoping you could aid us."

"I have taken over my family's apothecary in our village, that much is true. But, I am still nowhere near the skill level of my mother or even my sister..."

"I have heard about the tragedy that befell your family. They were all lost at sea, presumed dead, except for you. You were so young then, weren't you?"

She blinked; of course he knew. Everyone in Noire Island knew of the tragic shipwreck from five years ago.

"Forgive me if I say I try my best not to think about it. I've spent too many sleepless nights reliving those moments."

"Ah, I am truly sorry for your loss. However, please at least agree to examining one of our guests. They've fallen ill to a peculiar condition that none of us can diagnose."

"I will do what I can."

"Good. Tomorrow afternoon I will arrange for Terrence to meet you. Feel free to enjoy your spare time until then. The gardens are lovely place to go for a morning stroll, for instance."

She nodded, and they continued dining in relative silence.

I signed up for a gym membership alongside two of my friends at the Club16 near our office. We're truly the three stooges. I can't believe I got roped into working out, because I don't really care about any of that really. But they seem to really want to get into shape, so I'm along for the ride.

I did rowing, squats, leg presses, and dumbbells for my first session at the gym and I feel good about it. I've been feeling a lot of rage these days, not a super-fueled Dimitri rage, but a slow smoldering discontent, so working out will likely benefit my mood. I've also acquired this weird tickle in my throat, like I'm on the verge of getting sick, and it could fall either way. January 2020 has been a thorn in my side for the most part, but I'm venting, good things have happened as well. I'm too lazy to speak about everything but at least I'm finding the time to come and write about shit here.

Last night I found out Lif is being released in FEH, which is amazing because I have to have him - and he's voiced by Edward Bosco. He is one cool dude, lol. What can I say, I just adore sexy anime boys???

Fire Emblem has no shortage of cool boys. I don't even care that they're fictional, I'm an artist and writer! (Albeit self-proclaimed.)

Look at this bangin' art of Claude, for instance. L-O-V-E

Don't get me wrong, I love Dimitri too. HAHA, what??? I'm glad that we're going to get some cool new characters for FEH's CYL4. I'll have to choose who I'll pick, but if Claude's there then it's most likely gonna be Claude, yeah?????

Levius/est

wooooow so i recently got introduced to this new manga series called LEVIUS/est and omg the art is amazing and the characters are to die for especially Levius himself lol. the girls, natalia and A.J. are cool, pretty cute faces and fighting abilities, but like, obviously not as cool as the main male protagonist himself. this is a shonen manga after all - i'm not expecting much in that regard.

but man oh man i've been reading through it and the fight scenes are enticing. the female characters are strong and aren't dripping in sleazy fanservice!!!! what more can a girl ask for, and from a SHONEN MANGAAAAA of all things. welp i'm already gonna make like Fry and say "shut up and take my money!" i've ordered the first volume of Levius/est and if i continue to enjoy it i will work on purchasing the rest of the volumes.

lol honestly who can argue with mechanical body modifications, a pretty face, cool hair, and a rockin' body for an anime boy? nevermind the fact that he's what, 17? hahaha... /dies

...I'm not a thirsty fangirl I SWEAR!!! (LOL!)

it really is a good series with nice art. i just also love the way the artist, haruhisa nakata, draws Levius. *shrug* i mean i'm not the artist but i appreciate the artstyle oK~? that's all. move along now, nothing to see here--

Authenticity

Today was my first day of volunteer at the daycare my church is affiliated with. I had such a lovely time; the staff members were all warm and welcoming and the children were all little angels. *sighs*

My heart can't even begin to describe how full it felt, spending time with the little ones. Conversing with them, settling them into nap time (I put 3 kids to sleep!), and playing with them. I... I never knew I had this spiritual gift. One of the staff said I had a 'teacher's heart' and that she saw how the kids gravitated to me. I had a little girl give me a small tattoo sticker, and another little girl asked for me to help her with the buttons on her vest. I felt honoured.

Of course, I also played with a lot of the other kids, and read some stories with them. Over snack, we discussed things together, and a dashing young boy enthusiastically talked about dinosaurs at Science World. It was a grand time for sure, and I really hope I can work out my schedule to be present there on a regular basis. However, with work, I don't quite know how this will be arranged. I'm continuing to pray and lifting all my worries to the Lord.

*sighs more* Last night I spent hours playing FE: Three Houses, completing a bit more on the Golden Deer route. CLAUDE DOESN'T EVEN BOTHER TO CARRY MC after she passes out due to fusing with Sothis; HE ASKS HILDA TO DO SO! Which is the gentlemanly thing to do, of course. I do like Hilda, but Dimitri actually carries MC back to the monastery which is kinda more romantic. I know Claude isn't the romantic character, and he's more aloof, but I LOVE HIM! There's just something charming about that character. And this is why I'm ruined for 3D boys lol, I gush over my husbandos too much! How can anyone real hope to compare... teehee.

Challenger

A/N: Oneshot piece with a steamy (read: adult) scene between MC and Raihan from Pokemon Sword and Shield. Inspired by the one and only WW.
