Static Waves

Sitting before a blank screen is intimidating. I am literally forcing myself to write, why? Because this is good, journalling is good, and it's supposed to be fun.

Since when did I start becoming so critical of myself?

...Since when was I not? That's a better question.

Well, you know exercises take time to get used to. As the year draws to a close, I'd better start getting used to the swing of things.

So, asides from moving next month and sitting like a duck while Christmas descends upon us, what else is new? I adopted a bunch of new fish. Hehe, funny story with that one...

Anyway, I am already scheming up Christmas presents... Can't wait to see how well received they are...

October Begins

Happy October, happy fall! The weather has been lovely, not too hot and not too cold. It's the perfect weather for walking dogs in a floral dress and denim jacket. Although I am still pining for the warm comforts of summer, I am glad that the air is still relatively warm and not gotten too chilly.

This season, many new changes have occurred in my life: a new home, a new dog, and a fresh chapter. We are to be homeowners! Our possession date in December of this year and in two weeks we will be boarding a flight to Barcelona to start our Europe trip! Exciting stuff as I've never had the opportunity to visit Europe, and now I am spreading my wings to cover several popular cities.

Oct 15 Barcelona

Oct 16 Marseille

Oct 17 Florence/Pisa

Oct 18 At Sea

Oct 19 Valletta

Oct 20 At Sea

Oct 21 Kotor

Oct 22 Corfu

Oct 23 At Sea

Oct 24 Messina

Oct 25 Naples

Oct 26 Rome (Civitavecchia)

Once in Rome we will stay four more days, then depart on Oct 31st. It will be a hectic fall/winter season for our family. I hope I can find the energy to write about the memories we will experience!

Spring It On!

 Hello, all! Happy Spring!!!

I finally got around to uploading some new images to the blog. It's been a dead zone here. I have been doing more journaling in a physical book these days. That doesn't mean I should neglect my online blog for my thoughts, though!

What's new with me? Well, my plants have been thriving, I got 2 fish tanks set up, and I'm still working from home in my comfy Shawffice.

Daily Daze

Weekly Playlist:
6 Feet -- Mahmut Orhan, Thomas Newson
Feel -- Curbi, Helen
God is a Dancer -- Tiësto, Mabel

It's almost the end of the year! I can't believe I'm still sitting here, blogging. Work has been challenging, but I've been rising up to meet my own expectations. I can only hope that others can see it, too. In January I'll be leading two training classes for new hires, so that will be a vast departure from the daily coaching I do with our technical reps.

Aaaa what's new? Well, I finished watching The Guest, a Korean supernatural crime drama, and it was AMAZING! Peter really enjoyed it, too. Asides from that, I've been working, playing games, and chatting with my friends virtually. I've been on this huge Obey Me! bender, I'm just so absorbed in this fantasy. It's really decent mobile game. I don't know where I should be posting my cards, because I do want to share the ones I've painstakingly unlocked and the ones I was lucky enough to pull. Teehee, maybe I'll just do an image dump on my Facebook...

Long Time Coming

Hello... it's me, writing from the abyss. This broken world...
And I don't really have anything to say! I guess I should try and write like I did in old times, back 7 years ago. But I can't. My adult mind is crippled.

Maybe I should go play some bingo.

Storm in a Teacup

Lately, I've been attempting a healthier lifestyle, which doesn't 100% seem to be working. My body weight/mass is very stable, so I'm not the type to gain or lose weight easily. A blessing and a curse, but I know getting fit takes dedication and willpower--both of which I don't have atm. I have a lot of fatigue and some stress, however... hehe.

Started some yoga classes again~ And drinking more lemon water and coconut water.
(But keeping the classes up is proving more & more difficult...)

Life seems to be the same, no changes. Work seems to be easier, in that I am slowly taking things more seriously and trying to take on more responsibilities to prove my worth. But you know, in the olden days... apprentices would train for years, or decades, to become a master in their professions. My hairstylist Leo was telling me the other day how apprentice sushi chefs, the great ones in Japan, train under a master sushi chef for something like a decade before they can be considered a great chef.

True or untrue as that may be, I guess like working out, improving oneself in all facets of life take dedication and time. Work harder, AND stronger.

Relationship-wise... things have become stable again, with random waves rocking the boat here and there. I've learned with experience that life is best lived without so many expectations of how things should be... a vague outline with a positive outlook is often enough.

Below are two of my favourite sets in the last couple months. Flower-themed nails are so elegant, and both have a different feel~

Pastel floral glory~~ for the last run of spring. May~June 2016

An elegant blue-centered floral. My nail tech painted each watercolour flower painstakingly!!!

I see a lot of copy-cats at my nail salon when it comes to my nail designs. I choose my designs precariously and work with my nail tech to make them a reality; each set is unique and rarely straight copied from a magazine or online.

Someone tried to copy the look of the pastel set with the 3D roses recently... I saw the image on Instagram. Another gal copied the bears on my Christmas set last year, with Duffy and his girlfriend on the thumbs. While I don't mind or claim to be the first to have these nails/nail art, I do have mixed feelings about being copied. I'm sure trendsetting is actually a very flattering thing, but I do appreciate uniqueness and creativity also... there's no need to copy me 100%, is there? I mean... people can put their own twist to things, can they not?

It shouldn't matter, anyway. I need to learn to stop caring about trivial things.

Oh, and my new hair colour is an ashy-gray~~ I love ashy hair, and braids!!!

Love~ I wish I took a photo of all my curled hair cascading down. Oh well, next time!!!

Aaand that's my usual update I guess. Filled with fluff and guarded. I promise I'll try and write something meaningful soon. I don't know how to lump that in with all the rest.

XO

Spring

Hello~ off to high tea! Photo by my younger sister ^.^
Hello~ I don't normally blog late at night anymore, or in general really, because I'm not one of those gals who like to show off a lot of my private life to the public. I'm too lazy to take photos of my experiences, and I'm also shy to write about my thoughts and feelings. But hey, it's 2014 and I'm not getting any younger. So here I am!

What's new with me? A lot of working. But I've also been spending time with my friends and my boyfriend's friends as well. I attended Shaun/Shawn's??? birthday party at "JOEY BENTALL ONE" and had a really delicious steak. I also spent time together in the same group of friends to eat fried chicken and beer. I've been having casual moments like that after work. It's a mature, and also nice experience for me. I needed this sort of change in my life, you know? Like some stability and actually liking and trying to get along with people who try and understand and respect me.

I've been to high tea several times, once with my younger sister and younger brother and my boyfriend, but also once with my best friend. Unfortunately I usually dress casual when I'm out day-to-day, so I didn't wear lolita... Anyway, my BFF and I have been watching "ATTACK ON TITAN" together, and it's been super funny.

My style of teacup at "LA PETITE CUILLERE" on Kingsway~
One of my favourite places to visit, because I love their darling darjeeling tea on a relaxing afternoon...

I need to keep my head up. No need to stoop down to other people's level. I'm happy and content the way I am~ and I don't live for negative reasons. I try not to, anyway! I'm independent (to an extent!), I'm rocking this semester in university, I have a car and money to spend and supporting&loving parents, family, friends, loved ones~~ I want for nothing, but it seems I'm in a state of anomie. But I don't want to turn into one of those horrible people who spend money carelessly to show off to others, because I believe people can tell if someone is really of substance or not. I suppose we'll see in the future who goes and stays in life, and who is really worth committing to in the end.

On the lolita end of things, my beloved Chess Chocolate Jabot JSK in ~pink~ arrived safely a couple weeks back! Gosh, she is gorgeous and I already dreamt up a coordinate for her. I can't wait to wear her out, but we'll see~

Beauty~ Ever since I sold the OP, I was searching for the jabot JSK.
I miss the jabot on the OP though, I regret selling it because the jabot JSK's jabot is pin-on, which I dislike. In hindsight, I should have kept the OP's jabot and sold the OP for a discounted price... but oh well!

I also received a lovely JSK from my wishlist: "EMILY TEMPLE CUTE" Chocolatier Rabbit JSK in beige! I got the dress from a sweet Toronto lolita I chat with occasionally. She's super sweet, I enjoy talking with her because she's just a genuine person. I think, anyway!

I love ETC. The dresses are detailed, fanciful, and gorgeous! I own a lot of the brand's rare coveted prints. When I wear casual-style, I feel more "at ease", if that makes sense. I love MILK, Q.POT, EMILY TEMPLE CUTE, those sort of brands... It gives me less pressure than donning full-on lolita. However, BF calls otome-kei "elementary school" look...ㅠ.ㅠ I don't see what's wrong with wearing cute dresses at an older age. The quality is completely different! I'd dress my kids in Emily Temple ANYDAY!

Lolita takes up a large part of my expenses. But my most recent purchases have been AATP Diamond OTK in gold, AP's Royal Chocolate Boston Bag (1st release!!!) and BABY's Bon-Bon Chocolat Dance Dance Dance JSK in Cafe Milk! I wonder how to coordinate these things? I wish I could get the headbow, too. We'll see!!!

Should I not mix PRETTY and BABY? XD Some lolita would think that, wouldn't they~~??? Thanks for visiting!!!

Come And Get It!

Today I finished the last exam for the semester. I should be feeling happy, but I don't. Usually us students can't wait for the semester to end, but I actually enjoyed listening to the professor and cracking jokes with my classmate Lilian. "Earbasher" and "The guy who spent all his money on tattoos so he couldn't afford Tim Hortons" and the long lost "Fauxberry"!!! I'm terrible for making fun of my classmates, haha--

I picked up the package containing my first ever Antique beasT headdress and another AP blouse. I have quite the blouse collection now, but I think I need more accessories. I am an occasional lolita, but I'm proud of that and I don't want to give that up for anything.

I've actually been looking into purchasing from some indie brands. I missed out on Baroque's "Pearl Drops on Dry Flowers" and also Haenuli's "Royal Kitten", but hopefully something will catch my eye soon. In the meantime, I'll be patient.

That's all on the school and lolita front, but on the Be My Princess front, there are new developments. I finished off Joshua's story and started playing Wilfred's... I wasn't too impressed by his storyline actually.

For one thing... He's kind of a pervert...

N-N-NOOOO PRINCE WILFRED, THAT ISN'T PROPER!!!
Why did he drag me into this hotel room anyway?!?

And... he doesn't know how to take public transit...

Are you sure? Really? ...Okay.

He also likes to eat girly ice cream flavours...

...??!

He looks like Cloud. LOL.

They all look the same, don't they? Not that I'm complaining!!! Just the way I like 'em!

Anyway... Wilfred's storyline is pretty weak compared to Joshua's. Joshua's storyline had political issues between countries, a rival prince, and a butler that was actually nice. Claude is a little b*stard!!! And I guess I preferred how stiff and formal Joshua was, even though that was borderline rude -- at least he behaved in a proper way. Wilfred just seems pretty lonely and... I don't know, too forward!!!

Well, I did enjoy the cute moments from his route. He's basically another prince that envies the regular life, and acts all formal and expressionless because that's his job and swallows all his inner feelings and junk. He's more touchy-feely than Joshua, and definitely more polite at first.

...Why am I analyzing his personality, anyway? Maybe because this is fun for me, haha.  A lot of my princess mates like Wills, but I definitely prefer Joshy-poo!

Thanks for visiting, you should definitely play BMP if you're into otome games, because you won't regret it. I don't. (Haha!)
