 I love our new RUG and I love my new UGGs! 😍

We picked up a new Ruggable 6x9 rug in Marble Golden Ivory for the office bedroom. It looks so incredible! Way better than the shaggy Amazon "meme" rug I got when we first moved in 2022. It really ties the room together and for some reason the low-pile rug makes the room seem more spacious. I literally don't know how this is possible since the space is literally the same as it was.

As for my UGG boots, I got the ultra mini style in pink! I've always fancied pink Uggs but never pulled the trigger on them. I went from... black, to "mushroom" (beige) to grey, and now finally I am in my pink comfy shoes era.💗 They feel a bit short and I'm not used to that compared to the taller styles, but still super cute! I'll throw some water repellent spray on them later.

What else is new? I have small 2025 new year's goals! A wedding is coming to a church near you this August! I am excited for my ONE MONTH honeymoon overseas! And... most importantly, I gotta save money and cultivate my hobbies. 💭 But, what would my hobbies entail? 

More bullet journaling! Gardening when the weather is nice. Cooking, and caring for my animals.

I need to open my 2025 Vancouver police dog calendar hahaha. I buy one every year. Even though my family always gives me the classic Asian calendar from the stores.

I also need to break in my Bella Belle wedding shoes. They're feeling a bit tight, still. A lot to prepaaaaaare!

GAHHHH look at this year's SHU UEMURA collaboration. Iiiiit's... chocolate!!!
Which means my wallet is not safe. I want the eyelash curler, eyeshadow palette AND EVEN THE BRUSH SET! Yes, that's right fam, I love the holiday collections the brand puts out every year.

Well, you know what I'm splurging on this year, huh?

Speaking of things... I went out clubbing with a friend and ended up making a drunken fool out of myself, as I know is fully capable of me. Ugh... I wish I didn't always do that. But it feels great to let loose once in a while, no matter how damaging the fallout is. YOLO, right?

Anyway, I gained a little insight on why my life is the way it is, particularly my odd and varied social circles. Grace, it's all grace, isn't it fam?

It amazes me how adorable Emily Temple Cute's items are! I fell in love with a bunny pouch from their web shop. Unfortunately I'm not in a position to splurge on this item, but this gold bunny pouch would be great to hold my make-up items and would match so well with my gold Milk heart bag!

Adorbs. Also comes in pink! Two of my favourite colours.

I wish I could find some time to compile a wishlist and then save up money to buy the items~~ *^^* There's a lot of cute items I want to buy but I've been working to save some money.

I want to find time to re-decorate my room, maybe buy a new wardrobe? And mattress? Sounds fun to redecorate since I really am not moving out anytime soon. I should focus on writing my essay tonight on Galatea!!!

Pink Biscuit

My Emily Temple Cute biscuit JSK arrived this week and the dress is super cute. (ღ˘⌣˘ღ)♫ I don't regret swapping the ivory for the pink, because pink suits into my wardrobe a lot better.

I rarely see any photos of the biscuit dress in pink. I only see it in the ivory and blue colour. So I'm pretty stoked to wear this dress. Although the cutting at the bust of my ivory dress was a bit nicer, I'm not going to mind it.

I made a hair bow out of my hair~~or maybe they are cat ears?

2013(︶ω︶)♥START!

The New Year's was eventful and I look forward to what 2013 is going to be like. I know simply another day has passed, but for me it is like turning a page. It's the chance for a new start, both mentally and physically. So, I wanted to post some things that happened to me the last month of 2012.

10 December 2012: I received my AP jewel jabot blouse from AP store in Japan~~ and also picked up other minor goodies, like the Kyary x Mameshiba iPhone case (I wanted forever!!), the AP rose lace socks I've been admiring (drawn in Imai Kira's Wonder Story art), and the AP honey bear necklace to match my honey cake dress. \(＾▽＾)/*

A very uplifting package I received after writing my term paper~

14 December 2012: Visited True Confections for dessert after dinner! The devil's food cake was huge and I wore casual lolita. *^^* It was one of the rare times I order something other than cheesecake. I didn't even finish the whole slice!

18th Dec 2012: I also got a new set of nails for the holiday month! They are a more extreme deco-style. Can't say it really suits me.. but my technician chose it for me~ so I wasn't picky about it.

The top bow on the other hand is green instead of light pink~

I'm not sure what else I wanted to include but my December basically passed by very quickly. It was an event-filled last month of 2012, with finals and new friends and ups-and-downs. I am focusing to start 2013 with positive energy and happines~~

Lastly, some of my new year's resolutions are:

1) Budgeting better each month to save more money (only spend $500~600 per month)
2) Taking better care of Jacky, more walks with him (hopefully daily walks for at least 20min)
3) Bonding better with people, being less judgemental and more friendly (especially with my partner)
4) Studying harder in school, keeping in touch with friends, and doing hobbies I like (writing more~)

My new year's day started out with my having to go to work, but I'm happy nonetheless. I'm striving to be a more mature individual, keep wearing dresses, and living without regrets!

Crocodile Hunter?

I bought my first ever crocodile print blazer yesterday. It's a lovely piece Victoria helped me pick out from BCBG. Normally I would think this print too daring and bold, but I will try my best not to be intimidated by it.

I've been brainstorming ways to wear it. I'm thinking light coloured (or dark/black) top, with fitted dark jeans or a skirt with a gold necklace. Maybe even a dress and heels? =)

Last Night's Mini-Party

Last night, I went and visited the new TOPSHOP that recently opened downtown. I didn't get a chance to look at many of the hair accessories, but I saw a cute white dress that I fell in love with. Effie-esque and everything. (Or as other me put it, "Very Lady Gaga"!) It ended up not working out for me. =3= Shan and Viki both walked away with lovely new purchases... but lately I haven't had much luck finding things I want to buy. Sob~~

At around 7:30PM, the three of us went to dinner at La Vallée in the hotel. Dear lord, it was mediocre at best. There seemed to be only ONE hostess/waitress, and the food took FOREVER to arrive! We were sitting there playing a drinking game with our glasses of wine, we were so bored. The menu was similar to a pub/bar menu, which is a disappointment in itself seeing as the decor seemed to mimic a more fancy restaurant's design. Food was so-so, nothing spectacular. (Though that's to be expected...)

The best part of the night was the four of us chilling in my room drinking beer, eating fried chicken and sunflower seeds. XD We tried to continue the drinking game from the restaurant but it didn't work out too well. It was still a wonderful night though, in my opinion anyway, I had a good time. ^--^"

Wonder and Biscuits

My wallet is crying! I have recently obtained AP's Wonder Story JSK in wine, exactly in the version I wanted (round). I chose this version because the lace at the hem is red, instead of the usual white, and for the overall feeling the dress gave me. I am so happy to have these lovely dresses in my collection. I swear it's like an addiction; expensive, yet useless and rewarding. What a sad, sad life to be a Lolita... *cry*

I am still having trouble finding things to match my Sugar Hearts JSK. I guess I will just keep wearing it with the lacy pink blouse from AP. Nothing else to do about it... ^.^

So sad haven't been able to fully wear Lolita lately... But hopefully this weekend, I will be able to, and that makes me very happy..!

Another happy thing is that the dress I want from Emily Temple Cute has finally popped up on Mbok! My shopping service, a lovely person, has found it for me. ^^ The price is currently at 25,500yen (approx. $325usd!) So effing expensive.

I sometimes wonder if I should resell some of my dresses to earn back the money I spent.. but I just cannot bear to part with any of them at the moment...!

Need to put together a revised wishlist, for the future.

Poor Effie. I need to remember to pay my mom for the insurance every month. Poor me...!

Vanity

Hello, Karen here. :) I feel as if I've reached a new level in house-wife. I recently bought two 100% silk skirts from Wilfred (along with a silk blouse from Plenty) and the care label reads 'DRY CLEAN ONLY', so I was reading up on how to hand-wash these delicate items at home. (I'm not yet brave enough to just toss them into the laundry machine.)

I don't know why, but tonight I am feeling a bit restless. There are always so many things on my mind, but I can never get them out. I can't write, I can't think, I can't talk about anything. It's a bit frustrating how I've slowly become accustomed to bottling everything inside. For example, the past couple months have been very eventful and fun-filled. Did I write about any of it, though? No, I didn't. But I really should. >.< I should exercise the inner writer in me! Don't you agree? ...I thought so!

I was trying to find Burt's Bees toothpaste after we opened one at Shan's house. It's very divine! I checked two London Drugs and I couldn't find any. Perhaps I'll have better luck at Shoppers Drug Mart.

I think that will conclude this entry. I'll try to write something soon.. (ha! That's what I always say.)

Karelos pushed and turned the key in the lock. The door swung open and she stepped into the apartment. She kicked off her heels and flicked on the light closest to the door. The view of the elegantly furnished apartment met her eyes and she sighed. Finally, she was home. It had been a long while since she returned to this place. Everything was as she left it; untouched, but kept clean by the maid that visited once every two weeks.


"Where are you?" Karelos called for the little cream-coloured french bulldog, but no scuttling of little paws answered. The room was cold.


She threw her purse on the sofa and walked to the bathroom. She blinked into the mirror at the dark circles that were beginning to form under her eyes, though it shouldn't have been a surprise. The drinking parties and late nights out were bound to take a toll on her skin somehow. She tied up her hair and began to remove her dark eyeliner, wiping off glittery silver eyeshadow in excess. 


After she freshened up, Karelos sat down at her laptop and turned it on. The machine slowly flickered to life, the pale glowing screen the main source of light in the dim room.


Her email was filled with rantings from old friends, the occasional work-related mail, and one or two spam mails. But there was no email from him. She figured she would have to wait a little longer. The clock read 12:26AM.
